Most people who don't recommend this game are comparing it far too much to the "original" Cobalt.As much as I enjoyed the original for it's timing and rolling, Cobalt WASD isn't a poor game and most negative reviews shouldn't be given attention if you're looking at this game alone.There's still great movement, timing and skill that could go along with this game and it can be a fast paced shooter, but with the added mouse controls it'll limit some players and be better preferred for others, and may not provide the same feeling and playstyle one might get from the original.This is still a fun game, even if the public servers are inactive (and so are the original Cobalt's servers, comparing the two isn't worth it) but you'll eventually run into some one or you can find friends to play this cheap, cartoon-y shooter and have fun with what could be compared to games like CS:GO.Cobalt WASD can be modded by players and could be more expansive if players put in the time, but Cobalt WASD seems to only have one gamemode that could be easily compared to Bomb Defusal in CS:S and CS:GO. It can be enjoyable and has decent diverse weapons and gear for different playstyles throughout Cobalt WASD.Good amount of maps and the possibility of more from the Steam Workshop with players are able to set up their own games.. Cobalt WASD is really great so far. It's very pretty, and it plays very very well. Some of the abilities may read as OP in the game description ETC, but it really is a fair game, everything has a fair good feeling counter. And the rounds are fast enough that its not super punishing to die in a round. This was a major issue with me in CSGO and I really like how they approached that issue here.This is the kind of game you would play if you want to play CS:GO but you don't want to play Competitive and risk your whole mood for the day. Or maybe you're just feeling like you don't have enough energy for CS:GO or to dedicate a whole hour to a comp game but you still want to play a CT vs T type game.The developers are great and competent and actually listen, and are very open in the Discord for the game.The maps are great and have different layouts and playstyles. You can bum rush by using tunnels underneath or side paths, or you can build tanky and just push through the middle, eating damage and claiming your territory.Another great part of this game is how they dealt with the overload of information in games like CSGO. You can do very interesting plays, while the game still remaining simple. The interesting plays rely on you as a player more than your weapons or suit (though they can definitely help.)The sound effects and atmosphere of the game are really good. Really makes it fun!Tl;DR: Super worth $7. A steal, really, especially with workshop support.. there isnt a better 2d platform shooter out there. good price, good fun.. I absolutely love this game. It is alot like the normal cobalt but with WASD controlls hense the WASD. The game is still quite new but I can garuntee that you would not regret buying it if you like 2D platformers.. This game should be an update to Cobalt. Not a seperate game that you have to purchase. It's like buying PUBG and having to pay every time they add a new map or gun. The Description of the game says 'No day one DLC'.... THE GAME ITSELF IS A DAY ONE DLC.. It's a good game but one game mode are you kidding me update the game.so i don't recommend this game right now.Play the original cobalt instead. What the hell... game is cool, but it's so dead.
